If it's modern and has a lot of IC's and stuff there may be a static build up. I had this happen to a TV. After it sat for a few days it was fine again. I held down the power and home button on the side (ie the top and buttom buttons) of the tv for a few seconds and presto the tv came on. Works fine now.
